Ordering
Currently it is not possible
to order wines direct from us via this website – though we are
redesigning it so that you will be able to in the future.
If you wish to enquire about
and/or order wines you can do so in either of the following ways:
- By phone or fax (the same
number for both)
- By email (eg by using the
‘contact us’ button)
- By post
You can send for a copy of our
latest wine list by using the form accessed through the ‘wine list’
button. This list also contains an order form that can be faxed,
posted or e-mailed to us.
Under the terms of the
Licensing Act 1964 we cannot sell alcohol to persons under 18 years
of age, so we may ask for proof of age if we are in doubt, before
proceeding with an order.
Payment
Payment can be made by cheque
(with a banker's card) or by all major credit/debit cards.
Terms of sale
All goods are offered at the
prices quoted on our list, but these are subject to change due to
exchange rate and vintage movements. Please check with us before
placing an order.
Goods will be delivered free
locally (with 20 miles of Eastbourne) for 12 bottles and anywhere in
mainland UK for orders of over £250. For delivery in the UK under
this amount, please contact us. Goods for local delivery are
dispatched in our own (air-conditioned) delivery vehicle; elsewhere they are sent by
Royal Mail parcel and are insured at the appropriate value for the
contents: they are normally delivered within 48 hours. Guaranteed
next day delivery can be arranged but would normally attract
additional cost.
Goods should be checked on
receipt. Damages should be reported to us in writing within 4 days
of receipt. Please also notify us if goods are not received within 3
days of placing your order (unless we have notified you of a delay,
eg because of our need to replenish stock levels to fulfill your
order).
After receipt of goods you
have an automatic seven-day cooling off period in which you may
decide that you do not want the goods and to notify us that you wish
to cancel your order. A full refund will be given within 21 days, providing
the goods
are undamaged and unsoiled. Unfortunately, we cannot accept returned
bottles that have damaged or soiled labels or tampered foils.
Complaints
If you have any complaint
about our service or our goods, or you wish to report corked or
faulty wines, please contact Colin or Ian, the proprietors (by
email, ‘phone, in writing, or personal visit to the shop), who
will endeavour to deal with the issue immediately. We will keep a
written record of the issue and action taken.
